City Cast DC Editor Position

City Cast DC is seeking an experienced, driven editor to edit and support a growing team of local reporters across multiple beats and platforms. Reporting to the Managing Editor, this editor will monitor the news and help manage day-to-day assignments, editing and coverage strategy.

The ideal candidate is news-driven, nimble, quick and passionate about driving distinct coverage. They can quickly identify which developments are worth chasing and how to cover them. They are a strong communicator and manager who believes in front-end editing, giving constructive feedback, and helping reporters grow their skills. They are also adept at understanding how stories can be translated across articles, newsletters, podcasts and social media. They either have, or can develop, an expertise about local Washington and the people who live here.

The editor will work closely with the entire team to expand City Cast DC's newsroom, so a desire to jump in with both feet and an enthusiasm to build a new venture from the ground up is a must. And because it's a new venture, the ideal candidate will also be someone who can be flexible as our startup experiments its way towards a new shape. We're a tight-knit group, so we'd love someone who brings a sense of fun to the team.

Application Due: Friday, November 20
