Senior Copywriter

The Senior Copywriter is responsible for using his/her writing and referencing skills, conceptual ability and strategic thinking to enhance the Agency's copy offerings to the Client. Primary job responsibilities include working as a team with art director to develop conceptual approaches to meet client objectives, establishing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with all members of the account team, demonstrating a sound understanding of marketing/advertising strategy, and preparing and submitting work for Med/Legal and DDMAC approvals. The role also requires a high level of professional craftsmanship and superior writing skills, familiarity with medical and scientific information that pertains to Agency brands, and the ability to work in print media and understand other forms of media. The Senior Copywriter will work closely with editors to ensure accuracy in all work, attend regular status meetings, follow jobs from start up into production, and ensure all final products released are of a superior quality. The role also involves effectively presenting and clearly communicating creative concepts internally and feeling comfortable participating in client meetings, keeping supervisor(s) up-to-date on all projects, and performing other job-related tasks as assigned by supervisor(s).

Additional responsibilities include maintaining positive relationships with internal business group departments such as Editorial and Traffic, contributing ideas in client meetings, demonstrating the ability to set priorities while handling multiple projects/deadlines, projecting a professional, positive attitude toward peers and clients, fostering a positive team atmosphere, and establishing credibility both internally and externally. In-person client travel is required.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, 2-4 years of healthcare advertising copywriting experience, a copywriter portfolio or "spec" portfolio demonstrating strong creative abilities, excellent oral communication and presentation skills, and knowledge, background, and/or interest in science and medicine.
