Data Analytics Specialist

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) empowers Ohioans with disabilities through employment, disability determinations, and independence. Our agency works with partners in businesses, education, and non-profit organizations to facilitate customized employment plans for Ohioans with disabilities; helps Ohio companies recruit and retain employees with disabilities; and is the sole agency determining medical and vocational Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs in Ohio. We help connect the people of Ohio who have disabilities with the resources, support, and opportunities that fit their unique needs, abilities, and interests so that they can find and retain meaningful employment.

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is seeking a Data Analytics Specialist to support our mission of empowering Ohioans with disabilities through services that lead to employment and independence. In this role, you'll help transform data into meaningful insights that guide program decisions, improve service delivery, and strengthen the impact of OOD's vocational rehabilitation (VR) programs. This is an exciting opportunity to use your technical skills in a public service environment where your work directly supports individuals, partner agencies, and teams across the organization.

In this position, you will:

  • Develop automated reporting solutions and create dashboards that help staff access consistent, reliable information.
  • Validate report calculations and data outputs, troubleshoot reporting issues, and maintain recurring reports and workflows that support compliance monitoring, performance measurement, and Vocational Rehabilitation operations.
  • Review and process data requests, determine business requirements, prepare approved data for release, and support compliance reporting by maintaining accurate and timely performance measures.
  • Ensure the quality of analytical deliverables by performing validation checks, resolving complex reporting issues, and collaborating with teammates on analytics projects.
  • Support interagency data-sharing efforts by preparing authorized datasets, participating in agreement reviews, presenting data-sharing agreement justifications to the Data Governance Council, and maintaining datasets and reporting resources used for cooperative program reporting.
  • Document reporting standards, manage Vocational Rehabilitation data definitions, maintain cataloged metadata, and provide training, guidance, and technical assistance to staff.

To be successful in this role, you should bring:

  • Strong knowledge and experience of data analysis methods and electronic data processing tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • The ability to learn agency specific systems.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, the ability to handle many variables at once, and the capacity to prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed records.
  • Comfort working with government processes, understand agency policies, manage sensitive inquiries, and communicate effectively to both technical and non technical audiences.

If you're looking for meaningful work that supports statewide services and enhances the quality of programs that change lives, we encourage you to apply and grow with OOD.
